The League honored members of the Arizona Legislature for their work during the 2021 legislative session. The legislators are recognized for their commitment to local government decision-making and providing support to cities and towns in their districts and statewide.
Each year a set of legislative resolutions is adopted which set forth the League’s agenda for the following year’s legislative session. These policy initiatives are first vetted by the League’s policy area committees and then discussed and moved by the full Resolutions Committee during the League Annual Conference.
Save the date! The League’s 20th Annual Cities and Towns Week will be October 17-23, 2021. Arizona Cities and Towns Week is set aside each year to provide citizens with important information about the services and programs provided by their city/town, and to introduce the employees that deliver them.
Women Leading Government Conference will be held October 28 & 29 at the Phoenix Convention Center.
If your outdoor recreation or historic preservation project needs funding, Arizona State Parks & Trails may be able to help! The agency has funded more than 2,000 independent projects through our grant program—that’s over 2,000 projects for trails, playgrounds, accessibility improvements, historic preservation, and more! This program is open to applicants year-round.
Former Mayor and League Executive Committee Member Harvey Skoog died on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at his home. He was 81 years old.
