Strong Arizona Attendance at NLC Conference in LA

More than 130 registered delegates from Arizona attended the National League of Cities “City Summit” in Los Angeles in mid-November. Mayor Anna Tovar of Tolleson was a featured speaker at one of the breakout sessions entitled “Big Ideas for Small Cities.” In addition to the many sessions on specific city issues, delegates heard from some prominent national personalities in General Sessions such as journalist and former First Lady of California Maria Schriver, CNN political analyst Ron Brownstein and entrepreneur Elon Musk.

The NLC’s national legislative agenda was approved at Saturday’s Annual Business Meeting and new officers and Board Members were elected. Board members from Arizona are Councilmember Robin Arredondo-Savage and Joel Navarro from Tempe. Next year’s NLC City Summit will be in San Antonio, Texas.
