- What is the proper role of a planning and zoning commissioner?
- How should a commissioner interact with the public, the council and staff?
- Best practices or suggestions to fulfilling this role.
It is recommended for all city/town staff, elected officials and planning and zoning commissioners who wish to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of this important volunteer position in Arizona’s cities and towns.

1487 Cases in Arizona: The History of the Law and Strategies for Defending 1487 Actions Brought Against Cities and Towns

This session will explore the history and origins of SB 1487, review the steps and possible outcomes in the 1487 investigation process, along with looking at some general 1487 litigation issues and themes. The session will close with a discussion of the future of SB1487.
This session will provide up to 1.5 hours of CLE credits for attorneys but is also open to all municipal employees and elected officials who wish to learn more about the 1487 history, issues and strategies of successful defense of claims.
