League Director Announces Retirement and Executive Committee Appoints New Director

During the League Annual Conference, Executive Director Ken Strobeck was celebrated for his 14 years of service to Arizona’s cities and towns.

Strobeck became Executive Director of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns in January 2006. He brought with him a wide array of work experience, including time in the Oregon legislature and serving as executive director of the Oregon League of Cities.

In the announcement of his retirement, Strobeck was honored during the League Annual Conference Dinner on Wednesday, August 21. The seven League presidents who served during the time of Ken’s tenure provided their thoughts and well wishes through a celebratory video. You can view the video here:

During the League Annual Conference, the Executive Committee also met to appoint the next executive director. It was announced that current Deputy Director Tom Belshe would serve as the next director. Belshe has been deputy director of the League for 14 years.
